The Sports Performance Suite is a cloud-based solution that helps B2B Customers (Trainers and Managers) of sports clubs and associations to digitalize their sports performance and team management processes. It is an all-in-one Integrated platform for all sports data. With the power of the SAP HANA database, it is possible to process large amounts of data in real-time, analyze, and simulate them.


Research

The Story behind the FIFA World Cup 2014

The SAP Match Insights Tool was used by the German national football team at FIFA World Cup 2014. Fortunately, they won the championships in Brazil owing to good tactic and player’s performance to this tool, but also surely due to big data analysis.

Kick-off Workshops

At the beginning, the product teams got together and we had a project kick-off and multiple Design discovery workshops. During the early stages of the project, I helped the product team conduct customer interviews, building concepts and prototypes.

The workshops helped establish buy-in from the key stakeholders of the project.

Match insights Use case

The key customer journey touch points in the application solution for the Game Analyst and Player emerged, after defining the use cases and story maps.

Prototyping

The User journey map highlights the five activities of Matze, the trainer in the Pre-match journey stage. The five activities include determine performance and health status of the players, planning the training, communicating with the team, performance insights pre-match team, and performance insights pre-match opponents.

  • Based on the players' master data with all relevant KPIs, including availability and health status, Matze is able to plan his training units.

During the bi-weekly sprint cycle, I supported the UX Design Lead to conduct regular design reviews which ensured alignment with Fiori standards. The regular collaboration and Review fostered collaboration between designers and developers to ensure seamless integration of design and functionality.

By following the SAP Fiori UX responsive design principles, I ensured that the match insights app UI was accessible and functional across various devices and screen sizes.

Bi-Weekly Sprint Cycle Collaboration

During the bi-weekly sprint cycle, I supported the UX Design Lead to conduct regular design reviews which ensured alignment with Fiori standards. The regular collaboration and Review fostered collaboration between designers and developers to ensure seamless integration of design and functionality.
